On the Fifth Day

Thomas Knight’s estranged brother Edward, a Catholic priest last seen in the Philippines, is dead and no one wants to talk about why. Thomas decides to do a little digging for himself but is soon carried off on strange and dangerous waters that take him half way round the world, as rumors emerge of his brother’s curious involvement in Roman archaeology and—more baffling still—terrorism. But if Thomas’s investigation attracts the attention of the government, that is nothing compared to the cabal of fanatical killers who are on his tail. They are bent on keeping him from stumbling upon an ancient and explosive secret whose truth might change the course of human history. Relying on little but his own intuition and the assistance of museum curator Deborah Miller, Thomas has to uncover the truth at the heart of his own beliefs before his numerous and lethal enemies catch up with him, bringing their apocalyptic wrath down on any who stand in their way.
